The Penn Genome Frontiers Institute provides support to PENN researchers in several ways.
Seed Grant Funding
PGFI provides opportunities throughout the year to apply for seed grant funding. There are two award cycles - one in the Fall/Winter and one in the Spring/Summer - when researchers may submit proposals. Prior to the start of each award cycle, PGFI will send out an announcement via e-mail. Award announcements generally go out in October for the Fall/Winter cycle (awarded in December and funded January 1st) and in April for the Spring/Summer cycle (awarded in May and funded July 1st). PGFI Excellence in Genome Science Award
PGFI offers the PGFI Excellence in Genome Science Award to incoming graduate students. This award will be used to entice top-choice students who have expressed a desire to conduct research in genomics.
